The anomaly, as viewed by satellite, is close to that 6:1 proportion. The Genesis blueprint of the Ark detailed the structure as 6:1 length to width ratio (300 cubits by 50 cubits). It would be easy to call it merely a strange rock formation.īut at least one man wonders if it could be the remains of Noah's Ark, a vessel said to have been built to save people and selected animals from the Great Flood, the 40 days and 40 nights of deluge as detailed in the Book of Genesis. Whatever it is, the anomaly of interest rests at 15,300 feet (4,663 meters) on the northwest corner of Mount Ararat, and is nearly submerged in glacial ice. But whether the anomaly is some geological quirk of nature, playful shadows, a human-made structure of some sort, or simply nothing at all remains to be seen. Images taken by aircraft, intelligence-gathering satellites and commercial remote-sensing spacecraft are fueling an intensive study of the intriguing oddity. Let's continue having fun together, whatever the weather, every Sunday morning at 9am.() - High on Mount Ararat in eastern Turkey, there is a baffling mountainside "anomaly," a feature that one researcher claims may be something of biblical proportions. We look forward to welcoming runners old and new to Malvern Park in the, hopefully drier, future. The marshals, Run Director, funnel manager, course checker and set up team - we salute you! In our defence, Laura and I couldn't let the timekeeping phones get wet - they have been known to record every raindrop that falls on the screen as a finisher. Special mention must go to the volunteers who, due to the nature of their role, couldn't stay under the wooden shelter. There were lots of siblings out together for a run this week, Grace and Emily putting in their 10th and 6th parkrun appearances Florence and Charlotte with 4 and 3 apiece, Agrishan and Akshayan with 7 each, Oliver and Jake running for their 5th time together and Will, Leo and Sammy running for their first time together since our inaugural event in July. Between them they have completed 165 junior parkruns - 330km, that's nearly 8 marathons!ĭylan C completed his 11th junior parkrun and earned himself a place in the half marathon club. James L and Sophie L were first male and female finishers on their first trip to Malvern Park in times of 8:35 and 9:52 respectively. We were having fun! Yes our facepaint was running into our eyes, our witches hats were limp and our ghosts were rapidly becoming see through but there were smiles everywhere. I'm sure every adult there was questioning the wisdom of their decision to come out in the torrential rain but once the juniors had warmed up and splashed to the start there were so many happy children splashing, running and jumping through the puddles that the reason for coming out in the rain became clear.

I've lived in Solihull nearly all my life and I have never known what the wooden shelter in the park was designed for but on Sunday morning I felt eternal gratitude for whoever put it there.Ģ4 assorted ghosts, wizards, witches and monsters turned up for the 13th Malvern Park junior parkrun along with 25, soon to be drenched, volunteers. Because he would need it for the Halloween junior parkrun.
